How We Work

CRATE streamlines the modular construction process for shorter time to occupancy

HOW WE WORK

Modular construction solutions for all types of projects

CRATE works with architects, developers, municipalities, and school operators to save time and money by shortening time from design to occupancy. Our sustainable approach eliminates workflow inefficiencies, reduces waste, and significantly shortens the development cycle compared to conventional site-built construction.

Our Process

We have years of experience in a diverse projects of all sizes, complexities and construction sectors. CRATE's goal is to bring cost efficient, high quality, problem free building solutions to each of our clients. We bring a deep background in state permitting and construction processes to expedite these projects to occupancy. Our modular construction modules can be delivered to a construction site in a matter of weeks.

OUR PROCESS

A CONSULTATIVE APPROACH TO MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

CRATE supports your architect, general contractor, or builder at each step of the process.

Design-assist

Architect

Design-assist

The CRATE team collaborates with your design team during the design phase to ensure that your project can be professionally built in our factory. We provide details and assemblies to your design team and perform plan reviews for constructability, factory efficiencies and price during design.

Permitting

General Contractor

Permitting

Our buildings are permitted at the state level, overseen by Housing and Community Development (HCD) in Sacramento. We have a successful track record for getting modular buildings state-approved within weeks of submittal. Your project will still need to go through local planning and zoning processes, and any work on site will need to be reviewed and approved locally.

Manufacturing

Crate

Manufacturing

All CRATE buildings are fabricated in our climate-controlled factory in California. Our industrialized construction methods prioritize speed and accuracy, using both recycled shipping containers and light-gauge steel as sustainable building components.

Installation

General Contractor

Installation

We deliver modules to your site for installation by your contractor. Our factory is close to Southern California job sites and ports, making logistics easier. Faster delivery means fewer delays and less risk of damage during transport.

CRATE Partners

CRATE is an integral part of your modular solution team, and our partners are essential to the success of every CRATE project.
